Lagos Nurses Applaud Appointment of Kemi Ogunyemi as Special Adviser

Nurses under the aegis of National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) Lagos State Council and the Nursing community of Lagos State, have hailed the appointment of Nurse Kemi Ogunyemi, as a Cabinet Member and Special Adviser on Health to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Ogunyemi, who previously functioned as Commissioner IV at the Lagos State Health Service Commission, was appointed on Friday, 3 November, as Special Adviser on Health.

In a statement, signed by Lagos NANNM Secretary, Mr Toba Odumosu, and made available to Pharmanewsonline on Tuesday, the nurses expressed their profound appreciation to the governor for his confidence in nurse’s ability to contribute to his administration.

Odumosu assured the newly appointed special adviser on the support of nurses in the state, saying her tenure will positively impact the health sector in the state.

According to him, ”Mrs Kemi Ogunyemi’s appointment marks a significant milestone, signifying a positive step towards ensuring balanced participation in the leadership of the health sector. It also symbolizes a moment of triumph where the voices of nurses, who play a pivotal role in healthcare, are poised to be heard at the highest levels of decision-making.

“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the progressive and visionary Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu. His belief in the competence, dedication, and potential of nurses in Lagos is truly commendable.
